We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team specializing in the automotive plastic domain. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality plastic components for automotive applications. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all designs meet performance, safety, and aesthetic standards, while also optimizing for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Proficiently use CAD software such as Catia V5 and Teamcenter for creating and refining automotive seating designs.
Conduct seat packaging studies and ensure designs comply with ECE and FMVSS regulatory requirements.
Work on quick concept development in CAD, perform benchmark studies, and analyze kinematics and tolerance stacks.
Leverage knowledge of seat commodities including structure, plastic, foams, and trim covers to create effective designs.
Meet customer deliverables by effectively utilizing team resources and ensuring project requirements are met.
Requirements
Proficiency in CATIA V5 or UG-NX for part modeling, surfacing, assembly, and technical drawings.
Experience in the automotive industry with a focus on seating systems and subcomponents (foams, headrests, metals, plastics).
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate design concepts and project updates clearly.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to automotive seating components. Knowledge of data management best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
