Profile Summary
We are seeking a skilled CAE Engineer specializing in automotive seating systems. In this role, you will conduct advanced finite element analysis (FEA) and meshing using Hypermesh and ANSA, focusing on front and rear seats. Your expertise will involve creating robust FE models, managing connections, and applying LS-DYNA inputs for explicit analysis. You’ll perform quality checks on meshing and analysis results and interpret outputs effectively. Proficiency in Hypermesh, ANSA, and LS-DYNA is essential for delivering high-quality seating solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Proficient in meshing techniques using Hypermesh and ANSA for sheet metal and plastic parts, including shell and solid elements, as well as 1D beam elements.
- Conduct quality checks on meshing based on established criteria.
- Create and manage finite element (FE) models, focusing on connections such as welds, bolts, and rivets.
- Assign thickness and materials, and model various contact types in LS-DYNA.
- Debug LS-DYNA models and utilize control and database cards.
- Conduct explicit analysis for load cases related to seating systems and perform quality checks on results.
- Perform basic post-processing tasks, including stress and strain plots and 2D displacement and force plots.
- Interpret output results to inform design decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in CAE analysis, specifically in automotive seating systems.
- Proficiency in Hypermesh and ANSA for meshing and finite element modeling.
- Strong knowledge of LS-DYNA, including model debugging and control/database cards.
- Familiarity with various connection types (welds, bolts, rivets) and material assignment.
- Understanding of explicit analysis and quality check procedures.
- Experience with post-processing tools and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
